Illinois Hotels and Attractions

The Prairie State is quickly becoming one of America's premier vacation destinations, and for a good reason. Known for its rich history, a wealth of tourist attractions and endless outdoor activities, you'll always have something to do or see when visiting the 'Land of Lincoln.' Being the home of Abraham Lincoln may be the state's most significant historical claim to fame, but the incredible history means a wide variety of museums and historical sites await the avid history buff.

Of course, when you think Illinois, you can't help but think of Chicago – one of the largest cities in the US. Architecture, mouth-watering cuisine, and an unparalleled view of Lake Michigan make this world-famous city a bucket-list destination for travelers around the world.

Speaking of Lake Michigan, the many Illinois cities on its shores offer the unique experience of fresh-water beach life alongside the country's largest lake. The Chicago River and the state's thousands of acres of woodland and parks add to the beautiful natural spaces open to the public.

Thanks to its famous city's 'Windy City' moniker, many think Illinois is a blustery, chilly state for much of the year. While its winters can indeed be quite cold, summers are actually full of sun and heat that will make you crave a lake or river dip! Savvy travelers often choose to visit in the late spring and early fall – these times offer the most comfortable temperatures, as well as somewhat more affordable rates than during the summer rush.

Whether you decide on Chicago for that 'big city' feel or choose to enjoy the rustic beauty of Illinois' greener areas, there's a place to stay that will fit you and your family's needs perfectly. From luxurious five star hotels and resorts to quaint inns and B&B's, there's a spot with your name on it!

Amazing hotel. Good location, friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms, calm atmosphere. It was a perfect stay! The valet was nice addition too because I didn’t have to worry about finding parking or paying for it separately, I just got the park & play option when booking my room! Super quick & easy check in & check out. I definitely see myself coming back here in the future.

Great hotel. Easy to get to. Great rates. I booked through a third party, and they were so accommodating in getting me a room with double beds. My flight got in early, and they were able to check me right in. Great experience so far, and I haven’t even checked out yet.

Quite old overall. Location is good. Takes few minutes to get to the subway. But if you use taxi there is convenient pick up circle. Rooms are nicely renovated. Ceiling sky high. Feeling of Hearst Castle overall. In winter it is almost empty and we got a good deal from Delta for $80/night. If I were looking for a real luxury at luxury prices I would choose something else.

I was very impressed with the Kinzie Hotel after a 3 day stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and always welcomed us when we walked in the doors and wished us a good day when we left. In addition to the staff, I was impressed with the room my fiancee and I stayed in. Our room was extremely well kempt and had a beautiful view of the city. In addition to this, the location was perfect for us because it is near the city center, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. I would recommend the Kinzie Hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay in Chicago that is near any and everything you would need.

The room was clean and well maintained, but small: it would be OK for up to two people. (two queen beds) The lobby and pool areas are nice, too. We probably won't stay here again, because it's too expensive for the size of the room.

Impeccably clean and fresh, and newly redone this LaQuinta exceeded my expectations. It also has nice framed Illinois-themed photography and it's pet-friendly. The staff was pleasant and helpful. One quirk. . .the hotel has a number of what must be owner-added items of decor. Quite glitzy and a bit out of place, but they didn't diminish my experience!

Downside was train noise, need better soundproofing. Plus side was Jonathan at front desk. He was so upbeat and positive everytime we saw him. We were in town due to my Father in law passing and Jonathan made it a joyful experience as much as he could. Loved his Santa hat on Christmas day 👍😁

Fantastic experience. From the ease of reservations to the friendly employee that checked us in, everything was great. Our 70 pound lab was warmly welcomed and there was a nice area for pets to do their business outside. The room was clean and amenities were plentiful. Kitchen area was a plus. Overall, this was my best hotel experience outside of all inclusive vacation packages out of country. Will definitely recommend to peers and colleagues. We are definitely planning another night there in the future.
